However, the card also offers perks and discounts at a number of different retailers such as Myntra and Yatra.

What Makes Standard Chartered DigiSmart Card Stand Out?

The Digismart credit card is a viable option if you need a card for Ola spending, offering 15% cashback on all Ola spending up to Rs. 600 per month. This means you receive 15% cashback on up to Rs. 4,000 spent per month.

That being said, you would need to spend Rs. 20,000 per month on a cashback card that offers a high 3% to reach the Standard Chartered DigiSmart credit card's cashback rewards cap. Therefore, if you use Ola frequently to purchase rides, then this is a card worth pursuing. If not, we recommend other cashback options that can be found on our cashback page.

The Standard Chartered DigiSmart card also offers great perks and discounts for Myntra, Grofers, INOX, Zomato, and Yatra purchases. Take a look at the table below for details on the discounts and additional benefits.

  • Maximum Rs. 4,000 per quarter

The DigiSmart credit card also charges a fee of Rs. 49 per month (Rs. 588 per year), which is waived after the first month on monthly spend of Rs. 5,000. Assuming that you max out the Rs. 600 cashback by spending Rs. 4,000 on Ola per month, you will still have to spend an additional Rs. 1,000 for the month to avoid the fee. We recommend spending it on one of the Amazon Pay merchants that provide perks or discounts, listed above.

How Does the Standard Chartered DigiSmart Credit Card Compare Against Other Cards?

The Standard DigiSmart Card is not the best card for consumers. However, they earn no additional rewards on any other spending categories, nor do they provide any bonuses or promotions.

Standard Chartered DigiSmart Card vs. Citi Rewards Card

Consider this if you are looking for a card for utilities and movies

Age Requirement None listed by issuer
Annual Income Requirement None listed by issuer

The Citi Rewards Card is a solid low-fee card to use exclusively for retail shopping. The card offers cardholders a rewards rate of 2.80% (10 points per Rs. 125 spent; 1 point = Rs. 0.35) on retail spending.

While the Standard Chartered DigiSmart Card does not offer special rates for shopping, it does offer 5% cashback on utilities, phone bills, and movie tickets. Notably, both cards offer below average rewards for general spending, though the Standard Chartered DigiSmart Card offers a slightly higher rate (0.50%) than the Citi Rewards Card (0.28%).

Therefore, we would recommend the Standard Chartered DigiSmart Card for consumers interested in cashback on utility bills, phone bills, and movie ticket purchases, whereas the Citi Rewards Card is better suited for consumers who prefer a low-fee retail shopping card.

Standard Chartered DigiSmart Card vs. Standard Chartered Super Value Titanium Card

Consider this if you are interested in a cashback card to use on fuel, phone bills and utility bills

Age Requirement 21-65
Annual Income Requirement None listed by issuer

The Standard Chartered Super Value Credit Card is also a strong option for consumers looking to acquire a credit card for phone and utility bills (5% on both). It offers 5% cash back on all fuel related spending across all vendors, as well as phone bills and utility bills.

Another difference is the caps placed on the categories. For example, the Super Value Titanium Card allows cardholders to earn Rs. 200 per month in cashback, whereas the cap for the Cashback Card is at Rs. 100. So, if you are choosing between these two cards, we recommend the SC Super Value Titanium Card if you are interested in fuel cashback, and the Standard Chartered DigiSmart if you are more interested in movie ticket purchases.

Standard Chartered DigiSmart Card vs. Indusind Bank Iconia American Express Card

Consider this if you tend to spend on the weekends

Age Requirement None listed by issuer
Annual Income Requirement None listed by issuer

The Indusind Bank Iconia American Express Credit Card is an excellent option for individuals that often spend money on the weekends, as it has a set of elevated rates. The card offers 2% cash back on weekends for all spending categories except fuel, and 1.5% cash back on weekdays.

Both rates are higher than the 0.50% general spending rate offered by the Standard Chartered DigiSmart Card; however, they are much lower than the 5% cashback offered on utility bill, phone bill, and movie ticket purchases. When comparing these cards, we recommend the Iconia Amex Card for consumers looking to earn higher rates on weekend spending. Conversely, we would recommend the Standard Chartered DigiSmart Card for consumers who are looking for a great card to use on utility bills, phone bills, and movie ticket purchases, without racking up annual fees.
