There are exclusions that differ from plan to plan. Exclusions that apply to all plans are the following:

  • In the case of pre-existing diseases, a waiting period of 4 years will apply.
  • Illness, injury or diseases contracted within 30 days from the commencement of the policy will not be covered.
  • Non-allopathic treatments and medicine will not be covered.
  • Certain diseases require a waiting period of 1 year before coverage, including hernia, hydrocele, piles etc. Meanwhile, cataract and hysterectomy need a waiting period of 2 years.
  • Treatments connected to pregnancy, childbirth, caesarean section, prenatal and postnatal care.
  • Coverage of treatments due to intoxicating or addictive substances like alcohol, drugs etc.
  • Joint replacement surgery that is not caused by an accident requires a waiting period of 3 years. Congenital diseases.
